"...One of the sport's great hosts, about as generous, warm and enthusiastic a teacher as may be found on a stream---the kind of guide who enjoys a client's fish as much as any he catches himself."
Seth Norman....Flyfisher's Guide to
Northern California

Fly fishing in the Tahoe area?  You bet!  The Lake Tahoe area is a world-renowned, diversified recreational playground.   The addition of both public and private trophy trout angling in the area's alpine waters make this the premier outdoor site in the pristine High Sierra.

Announcements!

In 2010 I will again be venturing into Chilean Patagonia; specifically, near the Chilean town of  Coyhaique; 1000 miles-plus (1260 kilometers) south of Santiago.  I will "host", and have reserved, two weeks;  Janurary 30 to  February 6 and February 6-13,  2010 at the Picacho Lodge.  It is located in an isolated river valley; there is no road access, only by a 40 minute,  jet-boat ride down-river via the Rio Picacho. Simply, it is remote. The lodge accommodates only six (6) fly anglers. The stay entails 7 nights/6days of guided fly fishing.

The "hosted" week of 2/6-13/09 is "early-bird" priced at $2500.  The "hosted"week of 1/30-2/6/09 is priced at $2900.  Other than the two hosted weeks; any 2010 week is $6000 for two, via my referral only; price for one is $3500. (...you arrange  flights to Chile...plus gratuities to the staff).
For specific information, feel free to contact me.

Finally....  www.calflyfisher.com     Check it out!

From June 1999 to June 2001, I was the California monthly columnist for WESTFLY.COM The California section ceased in 2004.  Now you'll only find monthly flyangling picks
for ,IdahoOrgeonWashington & western Montana Check out it's “Feature” articles;I’ve written a few..IMO the entire site remains the Internet's best Westernflyfishing site.

As recent as the Summer of 2005 I wrote the famous...
Truckee Fly Angling Update!

Here are some unsolicited comments I received by e-mail:
"...nothing like doing without to realize the worth of your updates (during computer breakdown in late August, 2000)"
"...I find your Update helpful for fly selection,  hatch info, and types of water to concentrate on.  I prefer your report because it appears as a log of how you and your clients fared and what fish were actually caught on."

I am thinking of resurrecting the UPDATE (see click-on above for a sample read)..but no promises.  If you are a new registrant please register below.  If you were on old list, I will it use again.
